The U.S. Department of Labor's Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) released an app version of the Occupational Outlook Handbook (OOH).

So, in addition to the BLS Local Data App, data users can now download the CareerInfo app, available for both Apple iOS and Android devices.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) Employment Projections data program partnered with the DOL Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) to develop this initial version of the app, where a data user can browse by occupational groups and titles or search by occupation or keywords.

 

Within occupational groups, the app allows sorting by occupation title, projected growth, and typical education or median pay.

 

The BLS Employment Projections data program is continuing to work with the developers on the next versions of the app, which will include features that will enable a user to personalize the app by filtering searches and by “liking,” saving, viewing, and comparing favorites. 

 

This means BLS and the Employment and Training Administration (ETA) now have three career exploration apps for Apple iOS and Android devices:
