National Agricultural Workers Survey: Getting Data on Farmworkers
About
The National Agricultural Workers Survey (NAWS) is an employment-based, random survey of the demographic, employment, and health characteristics of the field labor force working to ensure crops are harvested in the U.S. This survey is the major federal source for collecting data and background on migrant and seasonal farmworkers (MSFWs).
This principal survey of migrant and seasonal farmworkers is conducted for the U.S. Employment and Training Administration’s (ETA) NAWS. Please see the “National Agricultural Workers Survey Statistical Methods” for information about its sampling methods, data collection, strengths and limitations. For an overview of NAWS data results and findings, please see findings, see "Changing Characteristics of U.S. Farm Workers: 21 Years of Findings from the National Agricultural Workers Survey."
