About

The Department of Labor’s (U.S. DOL) Competency Model Clearinghouse includes the updated Food and Beverage Service Competency Model based on a review of training standards, feedback from employers, and in-depth interviews with subject matter experts resulting in the addition of new content and overall streamlining of the model.

This competency model results from the collaborative efforts of champions from various organizations, including DOL’s Employment and Training Administration (ETA), the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (NRAEF), and industry experts in the field of food and beverage service.
